Giving access to richness and rewards of the arts...

The ARTZ Cultural Events Program develops annual community-based programs for people living with Alzheimer’s, their families and care partners. Groups we have partnered with include:

The Big Apple Circus

ARTZ is assisting in the development of Vaudeville Caravan, a program bringing circus performers to Alzheimer’s long-term and adult day care programs .Iconic characters from the early to mid-twentieth century, such as Marilyn Monroe and Groucho Marx, help to elicit long-term memories and an increased sense of self. Also tickets donated to ARTZ by the Big Apple Circus and distributed to people living with Alzheimer’s and their care partners in New York and Massachusetts. Visit

Tribeca Film Institute

ARTZ created ‘A Walk Down Memory Lane,’ an interactive film program that takes people living with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones on a visual tour of some of the twentieth centuries most memorable film clips. The Tribeca Film Institute provides free theatre space and PR through its internationally renowned Tribeca Film Festival. Visit

Alzheimer’s Poetry Project

ARTZ and the APP have collaborated to host ‘Poetry Day’  at the famed Bowery Poetry Club in lower Manhattan. People living with Alzheimer’s disease, companions, and family & friends, perform on stage and recite original works and share favorite poems with each other.

The Alzheimer’s Association

Chapters in Manhattan , Boston, and Connecticut have partnered on ARTZ programs.
